Operations and Community Engagement Coordinator 

Location: Bellevue, WA 

Hours: Part-time, 25 hours a week 

Pay Rate: $24-$26/hourly  

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Summary 

The BelRed Arts District Community Alliance is seeking an operations and community engagement coordinator that can skillfully handle the day-to-day programming and logistics for the BelRed Arts Studio, a new arts and cultural facility located within the evolving neighborhood of Bellevue known as the BelRed Arts District. This position supports the administrative, organizational, operational function of the organization. The ideal candidate ensures efficiency in implementing arts-related programming, consistent data management, and strong communication that drives continued visibility and engagement from the community.  

This role will also foster long-lasting relationships with artists in residence, local partners and the community to support the sustainable development of the BelRed Arts District.  

Key Priorities and Responsibilities 

Serve as the operations coordinator for the BelRed Arts Studio 

  • Work with the Executive Director to develop, plan and implement arts-related programming, activities, events and workshops that benefit the community and drive visibility to the area.  

  • Oversee communications and serve as a primary point for all events-related inquiries. 

  • Coordinate and organize all incoming reservations, issue invoices and track payment through Zeffy.  

  • Have a consistent presence in the BelRed Arts Studio and manage any immediate needs.  

  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate calendar of internal and external events, fielding internal booking inquiries 

  • Perform other administrative duties as needed. 

Drive foot traffic and community engagement to the Studio and District. 

  •  Support the Executive Director with distributing information about what’s going on in the District and at the BelRed Arts Studio, including updating websites, maintaining social media, sending out newsletters, and handing out print/digital materials.  

  • Tell the stories of local creative organizations, businesses, and artists to draw long-term interest in the District and Studio.  

  • Help the Executive Director develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy plan that produces more event rentals at the BelRed Arts Studio and keeps artist studios/workplaces booked.  

  • Identify and cultivate meaningful relationships with artists, community partners and others that support our mission and vision.  

Requirements 

  • Excellent relationship-building and customer service skills 

  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills  

  • Strong reliability and ability to meet deadlines  

  • Proactive self-starter who takes initiative  

  • Ability to learn quickly, collaborate effectively and work independently 

  • Availability to support all events, occasional evenings and weekends  

  • Genuine passion for arts and culture and community building 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience 

  • 1-2 years of relevant professional experience working with nonprofit organizations, arts, or entertainment sectors 

  • Event planning experience, including budgeting, vendor coordination, and day-of execution 

  • Experience managing volunteers 

  • Strong digital communications skills including working with social media, websites and newsletters 

  • Experience with CRM systems 

Work Environment and Conditions 

This is a part-time, hybrid position. The BelRed Arts District Community Alliance reserves the right to alter location work requirements at any time. Applicants must have the ability to commit to a consistent schedule from Monday through Friday and occasional weekends; the ability to work remotely with reliable internet access (hardware will be provided); and to work in the state of Washington. 

Compensation 

The hourly rate is $24-$26 per hour, based on skills and experience with opportunities to grow. Vacation and holiday time off are included.
