Hear from the Community

Today, the BelRed Arts District is home to over 60 creative and cultural organizations. BelRed delivers a sense of excitement—against the backdrop of an industrial landscape, offering a unique blend of creativity and commerce. This lively neighborhood is rapidly becoming a destination for art enthusiasts, food lovers, and cultural explorers. By fostering an exciting arts community, we increase tourism, drive the local economy, and enrich the visitor experience. People come here to see more than just art—they come to be part of a vibrant, transformative environment.

COMMUNITY ALLIANCE: KEY MILESTONES

  • Produced the BelRed 2 Line Opening Party

In partnership with Sound Transit, we led and produced the planning for the 2 Line Opening Party at the BelRed Light Rail Station, welcoming and introducing 17,000+ people to the BelRed Arts District! Sound Transit estimated 35,000+ boardings on opening day. We are so grateful to all of our partners and community businesses who helped make this event possible.

  • Inaugural Community Art Installation

This year, we installed Joyful Connections, our first-ever public art installation created by renowned artist Brady Black! Over 100 local community members, business owners, and artists participated in painting this mural, cementing the BelRed Arts District’s legacy.

The community art installation can now be seen across from the BelRed Light Rail Station.

  • Community Meet & greet: Summer 2024

We believe engaging in the community is important in building a vibrant and inclusive arts district. Over the summer, we participated in multiple events across Bellevue including tabling at Bellevue Botanical Garden’s three-day Arts in the Garden event and the City of Bellevue’s Movies in the Park summer series and passing out informational flyers at Arts Fair Weekend. In total, we accumulated over 316,100+ impressions across all events.

  • Daylighting Creativity: Showcasing the Arts in the District

We’re proud of our Arts District, which is why in 2023 we launched a website, directory, and map showcasing and highlighting 60+ creative businesses and organizations who call the BelRed Arts District their home.

Each week, thousands of people come from near and far where they can find BelRed artists, musicians, creatives and cultural bearers doing what they do best in the district – sharing their artistry, fueling creativity, and activating spaces in BelRed and the greater Eastside.

  • Bringing Art to Public Spaces

Easily accessible artwork is something we strongly value, which is why we’re proud to support City of Bellevue’s public artworks and pilot mural program. Currently, you can find 6 utility box wraps and 7 large murals all located in the heart of the BelRed Arts District.
