Executive Director
Compensation
Hourly rate of $100 - $175/per hour, estimated 20 hours per week to begin with opportunity to increase hours overtime.

Position Objective:
The Executive Director’s objective is to lead the BelRed Arts District Community Alliance, a start-up nonprofit, in the fulfillment of its mission to the community, ensuring that the BelRed Arts District is programmatically and operationally sound as it establishes itself and responds to both current opportunities and future needs. This is a unique opportunity to help build a major community stakeholder from the ground up, in a dynamic future-focused environment ripe with possibility and creative challenges.

Founded in May 2023 by passionate community organizers, artists, and advocates, the BelRed Arts District Community Alliance is a grassroots, community-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to unifying, empowering, and inspiring the community through arts, culture, and innovation. Our mission is to amplify the vibrant BelRed Arts District by fostering collaboration, increasing visibility, and cultivating a shared identity that celebrates creativity and diversity.
Supported by the City of Bellevue, local artists, cultural organizations, and community partners, we believe in the transformative power of the arts to build stronger communities and elevate the quality of life. Job Description: Executive Director, Nonprofit Arts Organization
Organization Overview
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts, fostering creativity, and enriching the community.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Committee, the Executive Director serves as the chief executive of the organization, overseeing all operations, programs, and business activities while fostering community relationships. This individual will be a prominent advocate for the arts, driving strategic direction, leadership, fundraising, and community engagement to advance the organization’s mission and ensure its long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Collaborate with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors to establish and execute strategic goals aligned with the organization’s mission.
Analyze community needs and trends to guide the organization’s direction and impact.
Communicate strategic objectives to stakeholders and inspire their engagement.
Operational Management
Oversee daily operations, ensuring program effectiveness, fiscal responsibility, and compliance with nonprofit regulations.
Develop and implement business practices to support sustainable growth and organizational health.
Foster a positive, inclusive organizational culture aligned with mission-driven values.
Community Engagement and Advocacy
Serve as the organization’s primary spokesperson and advocate for the arts.
Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, governmental agencies, and stakeholders.
Promote creative placemaking and advocate for policies benefiting the arts community.
Fundraising and Development
Lead targeted fundraising efforts, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grant opportunities.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors to ensure sustainable financial support.
Oversee the planning and execution of donor events and campaigns.
Responsible for grant writing and grant applications
Board Collaboration
Partner with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors to set priorities, establish governance practices, and execute strategic initiatives.
Provide regular updates on organizational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Facilitate effective communication and engagement among Board members.
Position Qualifications
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of Executive Director or senior leadership experience within a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Skills
Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
Proven networking and fundraising capabilities.
Strong understanding of finance-related performance standards.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies, including financial strategies.
Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
Proven ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.
Action-oriented with strong decision-making abilities.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and a variety of social media platforms.
